The UW International Student Health Insurance Plan (ISHIP) is required for all international students with F-1 visa status who are enrolled full-time.
ISHIP costs $310 per quarter. If you have any F-2 dependents, the cost for dependents is $300 per person per quarter.
Note: All costs are per quarter and are subject to change.
ISHIP is valid for the following dates of coverage:
See the ISHIP Summary of Coverage 2016–2017 for a detailed explanation of this insurance plan. If you have additional questions, contact Chris Dessert via email or by phone at (206) 543-6202. His office is located in the Hall Health Center in room 187B of the Wellness Resource Center.
The health of our students is important to us. Therefore, all UW IELP students will be required to provide proof of Measles (Rubeola) immunity by filling out the UW Measles Immunity Requirement Form (MIRF) and submitting it to the IELP office.
Continuing students will not be allowed to register for any future quarter classes until they have satisfied the UW Measles Immunity Requirement.
To comply with this requirement, students must do the following:
If you are not able to submit proof of Measles immunity before your program begins, you can get vaccinated at the UW Hall Health Center.
Note: Students born before January 1, 1957 are considered immune to measles and do NOT need to submit proof of immunity.
It is recommended that international students also get a health certificate (in English) from their doctor that lists all immunizations and diseases they have had or have been exposed to, and bring this with them to the University of Washington. Students should consult their doctor to determine which additional immunizations may be best for them.
All new students must submit proof of measles immunity before new student registration (please see your acceptance -mail for new student registration dates).
