Sample Customized Academic Program: Sustainable Business
An organization interested in offering a dynamic study abroad program for international university students requested a short-term intensive program to provide foundational problem-solving skills in zero waste systems and triple bottom line accounting. To help accomplish this goal, we created a full-time, F-1 eligible program for them. It was offered on the UW Seattle campus.
Program Description
This four-week (72-hour) program, designed for international students proficient in English, introduced key aspects of sustainability through the context of sustainable business. Students examined economic aspects of sustainability through a variety of current interdependent issues such as energy needs, ecosystem services, environmental justice, triple bottom line accounting, and environmental policy and regulation. At the end of this program, students presented a critical analysis of business practices that foster long-term environmental and financial sustainability.
UW IELP can offer programs focusing on a variety of content areas. Contact us with your request to find out more.
