Sample Customized Professional Program:
Faculty Development Short Course

Waseda University is a private university with campuses throughout Japan. A leader in Japanese education, Waseda is committed to developing outstanding faculty. To help accomplish this goal, we created a faculty development short course for them. It was offered on-site at the main Waseda campus in Tokyo.

Program Description

This three-day program provided an opportunity for Waseda faculty to deepen their understanding of the most up-to-date pedagogy used in the U.S. higher education system. During the program, UW trainers in the field of teaching and learning held a roundtable discussion session with Waseda administrators and faculty on various aspects of course design, execution and evaluation. These trainers then facilitated a series of intensive, half-day pedagogy workshops in English for groups of 10–25 faculty members as well as a final debriefing.

UW IELP can offer a variety of teacher training programs. Contact us with your request to find out more.
