Who Should Register

This program is for professionals and students who want to learn about the latest advancements in the science, technology and engineering fields and also improve their real-life English speaking and listening skills.

You must have intermediate to advanced English skills to participate. For specific requirements, see How to Register.

Schedule

Classes meet in the mornings, Monday through Friday, for a total of 15 hours per week. Two afternoons per week, program staff and UW students lead optional Seattle-area sightseeing activities.

Housing

*Students are responsible for finding their own housing. 

On-campus housing is available for summer STEP programs only. For students joining our program in winter, we recommend contacting a local homestay agency to live with a family in Seattle.

Transportation

The cost of transportation during the optional afternoon activities is not included in STEP tuition. You'll take public transit for these activities and will have an opportunity to purchase an ORCA transit card at the start of the program.

Health Insurance
